Study, school, work.

Not a whole lot has been going on with us Johnson recently!
Travis completed his advanced CPR course with Saint Johns and now he is just finishing up his EMR course through the same place. As far as I can tell he loves it! And he loves trying to diagnose every little thing and find all of you pulses to make sure you are alive! He is doing really good in it, so hopefully his passion and knowledge continues on to his provincial tests, EMT and then on to Paramedic.
Terrible pic! Trying to creep in the library!
New hair color & Hiking with husband!
As for me, I am still only working casually at the hospital. I really love my job at the hospital, even though sometimes the people can be crazy and the environment a little hectic, I really like it. However, I HATE not knowing when I'm going to work. I hate not knowing if I am going to work 5, 2 or zero times in a week. I also hate being called into work 5 minutes before they want me to start. It is all super inconvenient! So I've applied at lots of places, but no one seems to want to hire a surgical processor right now (partially because I think they are waiting till the last second until the absolutely need one. Again, frustrating.) So last week I worked 3 times, and this week I was called in only on friday...so this week mainly consisted of season 4 of One Tree Hill (Which I totally forgot how awesome it is!!) and house work over and over and over again trying to pass time! I probably sound so lazy! I promise I want to work more! Just..I dont know. Hopefully the working stars will align for me somehow and I'll get a wicked sweet full-time job with no evenings or weekends! Hah! That'll be the day!
I recently decided to hack off 3 inches of my hair and dye it dark brown! That is the only thing really new with me! Now I am just trying to be patient till my wedding photos are done being edited and such! (Ok, maybe not all of them...because she took A LOT!!) Travis and I were able to look at the rough shots, and I was like crying they were so great! Travis was totally making fun of me! But I can't wait!

Such cool friends. Such cool sweaters around their waist.

On July 18, my crazy best friends decided it would be a good idea to go to Waterton on a triple date, have a hot dog roast and go hiking. Well..I'll admit, I had my doubt. And many things went wrong and were forgotten, and I'm not sure how everyone felt about hiking for fun, but it is definatly not my favorite thing to do! But I was glad I was able to spend a little bit of time with some of my best friends! I think we all had a good time!

Lemonade Chicken...whaaa?

This recipe sounded crazy. But it also looked easy...so I decided to try it! Surprisingly good! Very lemony-asiany tasting.

1/4 cup flour
1 pinch of salt
1 can frozen Lemonade
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp cornstarch
5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts/thighs/whatever (I chopped mine up into strip-ish pieces)

-Combine flour & a pinch of salt, coat chicken and brown in a frying pan. Once browned, place in bottom of slow cooker
-Stir rest of ingredients together and then pour over chicken.
-Cook on high for 3 hours

Serve over rice.

Apple deliciousness in a crockpot!

So I found this recipe online and it sounded great, however I made a few tweaks for the better I believe. Here's what you need! (SO easy):

6 apples Cored, peeled and diced
1 cup of apple juice
1/2 cup toffee bits
2 tsp vanilla
3 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup brown sugar

(if wanting a little extra flavor, add 2/3 cup smooth peanut butter. It tastes good in it, but not needed.)

Place apples at the bottom of the crock pot, mix together apple juice, cinnamon and vanilla, pour over apples.

Mix together oats, brown sugar and toffee bits and crumble over top.

Cook on low for 3-4 hours.

Tastes so yummy with vanilla ice cream!!

One Month Down! Forever to go!

ONE MONTH!
Crazy! Travis and I have been married for one month and we could not be happier!
Right now we are stealing some WiFi from the public library...wooo! Seeing as telus is proving to be absolutly ridiculous...one day we will have internet at our place.
Speaking of our place!
Some people have expressed intrest that I post pictures! Of course! I love our cute little place...even though the dog upstairs scares me sometimes!!
These pictures are not in any order...because it was frustrating! Anyways, its nothing spectacular or amazing, but it is OUR place! It is so weird knowing that each day I get to come home to this little place and be with my husband! If this one month is an indication of how forever will go, I seriously cannot wait! Such a great guy who puts up with me!

Here is looking from the door into our suite.

This is the first thing you see when you come down the stairs.

This sits on a counter beside our front door.

Anyways, its nothing spectacular or amazing, but it is OUR place! It is so weird knowing that each day I get to come home to this little place and be with my husband! If this one month is an indication of how forever will go, I seriously cannot wait! Such a great guy who puts up with me!
Travis: "How can you be so amazing and so stubborn at the same time! I love you!"
This is one of the endless reasons why I have the greatest husband ever. Even when I'm such a bag, he doesnt think so.
Oh...Travis is secretly really ticklish. Even though he won't ever admit it. But actually. Only when he is sleepy though, so I suppose that is a tad unfair...

In other news...on July 2nd I was able to go see the musical WICKED!!
It was absolutley incredible. So much better than I could have ever imagined. I cried my eyes out the whole time out of the sheer amazingess.
Here is a snippet of what it is...Drool...(Quality isn't exactly the greatest either..Sorry!)

Marriage is great. Certainly not easy.
Who knew making dinner each night would be so difficult! I mean you literally cannot live off of itchiban or Kraft dinner! Im finding that difficult...but I havent managed to poison us yet!
Grocery shopping, not having a dishwasher, packing lunches, LAUNDRY, paying rent, figuring school and jobs out..it is a lot to handle! But marriage is a team sport, so it is all worth it in the end!

Blah blah blah we are so happy...and all that mushy stuff I know that people don't actually enjoy reading about!
I think I have said enough for now, and I think Travis is done his studying (He must complete like 30 hours of homework before his EMR course starting mid-july)! I'll try and keep you posted on any more exciting happenings in our life! (Granted we ever get internet...)

xoxo Travis & Macaul
