Week 38, 39 & 40!

Ok, I guess I jinxed myself.
Last time I wrote I hoped it would be my last post before baby.
No luck thus far.
Blast.
I guess that baby is just too comfy in there.
Original due date was Feb. 4th. The Dr told me I will be induced on the 18th if I make it to that day. (They are going by the ultrasound dating and allow ladies to go 10 days past that)
So now all we do is wait.
I really can't complain, pregnancy has been really easy for me...but mentally I am done!! We are so anxious to meet this little one and I have felt pretty useless stuck at home since being off work...one can only clean & watch Downton Abbey so much. Plus it doesn't help when everyone you know is also anxious for the baby to come. Trust me, when she comes...you'll find out! I promise I won't keep my baby a secret!

In the mean time, check out my rapidly expanding belly.
I feel like I am getting larger by the hour.
I also thought I was going to be really lucky and be one of those women who go through pregnancy without any stretch marks...LOL. In the past week they have made an appearance...curses. (again, I shouldn't complain because they aren't too large or dark. But still!)

Nice phone.

Here is a little side by side comparison. And yes, I purposely wore the same sweater & necklace.

Weeks 34-37

If someone could please let me know where the last 8 months have gone, that would be great.
I feel like I have blinked and my whole pregnancy has flown by and the end is very near.

This week marks my 37th week...full term! Yay! So things could happen any time now...I am ready!!

This week I also finished up work..which I was actually pretty sad about. (I have to admit I came home crying and when Travis asked me what was wrong, all I could say was "people kept hugging me goodbye" Being emotional is awesome.) I have been so lucky to have such a great job with so many great people. I have spent a vast majority of my time at the hospital over the past 2ish years, that it will be so strange to not be there working. I have been working my butt of for the past few years to be able to pay for tuition, textbooks, paramedic uniforms, expensive tests & registration with the ACP and every day living costs without having to get a loan (ok...we had to get a small one when we first moved to Med. Hat because neither one of us had a job for the first month we were here) So I will go from being the main provider for our family to a stay at home mom. That will be quite the adjustment. The good news is Travis only has this semester of classes and then about a years worth of practicums. Who knows where we will go for those...but things will work out! The end is near...yay!!

We had a fantastic December & New Year thus far. We were able to spend a few weeks in the Lethbridge/Barnwell area which was awesome. We spent lots of times with friends & family watching movies, playing games, relaxing, babysitting, shopping, eating, chatting, eating, laughing and eating some more. That's the joy of being home for the holidays? A constant bombardment of delicious baked goods, yummy dinners and then going out to eat. The baby was in a food coma the entire time.

Speaking of the baby...no real updates. Still head down and moving a lot. Last time I was at the doctor they gave me a bunch of info about when to come into the hospital when I'm in labor. Yikes! It's finally hitting me! I also had a baby shower last week here in Med. Hat with some ladies from church. So many adorable baby clothes, shoes & other fun things! The nice part was that my Mom & Sister came out for it...and we were able to spend some quality time at Target!

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks! I don't have a picture with my chalkboard for weeks 34&35 as those weeks fell while we were out of town and I didn't want to haul it!

My cool sister Brooke took these pictures in the backyard at my parents house at my request just for fun!
I guess these are pretty close to the 34 week mark:

These maternity shots were taken by my awesome sister-in-law Nikki! This was at 35 weeks:

I promise my hair isn't usually a mess. Feeling pretty big here.

For my 21st birthday, my mom surprised me a few days after with a special delivery! (Thanks to my dad who had an appt. in medicine hat) I have been looking everywhere for mason jar glasses....and bam! Now I have them! She also made enough freezer meals to fill my entire freezer! Just more proof that my family is the best.

I also LOVE spending time with my sister. Seriously she is the coolest and there is never a dull moment when she is around. And when we are together...we are pretty weird.
Drink all the chocolate milk!
Always classy.

Visiting our bestie at the mall.

Holding an intervention...because she is a hoarder.

On Christmas Day we got to Skype as a family with my favorite missionary! Miss my brother so much!
Well, that's about it for an update...hopefully next time I write it will be to show off a baby! (Ok, I know...I am being far too optimistic. The Dr. literally burst out laughing when I told him I had the hospital bags packed. But I would rather be prepared!) Who knows what the next few weeks will bring (other than a baby...duh.). Exciting times! Hope you are having a fantastic 2014 so far!

Happy New Year from my weird family to yours!

Weeks 28-33

Hello third trimester! Where the heck is the time going?

Pregnancy is continuing without any bumps, which is good! I had another appointment this week at the maternity clinic (making this the 8th doctor I have seen throughout my pregnancy...crazy!), the head was down, and heart beat was strong! So with the head down, I get to feel the constant pressure of a small little melon sitting on my bladder. Oh Joy. The baby is moving around like CRAZY everyday...some days I swear she is practicing her ninja moves with all the kicking and flipping I feel. Each day I am feeling a little more tired and each night I find it a little harder to get comfortable. Other than those things and being hungry all the time...that's all I really have to report!

Travis and I are looking for some much needed time off at Christmas to be around family and not worry about school and work! Most days we hardly see each other...busy busy busy! I also can't wait to meet my new niece Eliza!

I FINALLY was able to find a stroller/carseat combo that fit all of my criteria, and I cannot wait for it to arrive...it sounds like a pretty slick system. (Aside from the fact I couldn't get it in all black..."tidal wave" accents  will have to do! Plus it was on sale when I came across it...so I had to buy it ASAP!) I won't lie...it took me a solid hour to set it up and read through all the instructions. But I love it already and can't wait to fill it with a cute little baby!

Also, it was my 21st birthday on the 16th of this month! Birthdays are always fun...but this year was a little different! I ended up working a 12 hour shift AND missed the Movie Mill Christmas party for the first time in my life. I was actually quite upset about this! But after work my wonderful husband had the biggest bunch of red roses for me and we went out for dessert. It was low key, but I am always happy for the time I get to spend with Travis. (And I know those days are going to be limited soon with the chaos of a new baby!)
This is what I got myself for my birthday:

While walking the half a block from my car into the hospital I slipped on the ice and fell. Ouch. While I was trying to stand back up, I fell again. So my 21st year in life started off really smoothly. I am sure someone got quite the laugh if they saw me. Luckily I only fell on my knee and then my butt. It could have been a lot worse. Freaking hurts so bad!

One more thing...in my last post I said that I missed a week of weekly picture updates and blamed it on pregnancy brain...well the truth is I didn't forget! I just underestimated how clueless I am some days! So Here are a few picture updates of my belly:

The "forgotten" week. I only forgot because the picture was on my phone!!!

I can't wait for Christmas break! Hope you all have a nice time over the holidays!

I seriously need a hair appointment.

Weeks 21-27

Obviously I am getting a little behind on the updates!
These last few weeks have been a blur of working, keeping on top of housework, church, various craft projects, a wedding, getting ready for Christmas (What! Its already November?!) and preparing for baby!

Here are a few updates from life & pregnancy thus far:

-My official position in the OR ended at the end of October, but luckily I will still get a few guaranteed hours in there until I go on maternity leave.

-I was called to teach the 8 year old kids in Primary. I am so excited to be in Primary! I hope my class of all boys will be kind to me! (Funny story about how I found out about my calling...a few weeks ago one of the members of the Primary Presidency called me and said "Welcome to Primary! Can you teach this Sunday?" I had no idea what she was talking about, so I didn't question anything and agreed to teach. Then when a member of the bishopric told me they wanted to extend a calling to me I said "I know, I'll be teaching Primary" the look on their face was priceless!)

-The baby is always moving...and getting stronger. Literally I felt a kick so hard the other night that it woke me up at 4am.

-The baby goes especially crazy when we actually find the time to go to a movie. (At the movie theater is when I first felt the baby kick! I'm taking this as a promising sign that she will be a movie lover like the rest of the Binning family!)

-Travis loves to feel the baby kick and move! Although it is kind of freaky when we can both see my stomach twitching out from the kicking and punching...

-Getting dressed is a chore. I am trying to be that cute pregnant lady...but it is so hard when a lot of clothes just don't seem to fit how I would like them to!

-I get really sad when I drop things, or if my shoe is untied...because that means I have to bend over, which is a chore these days.

-The baby room is about 80%ish done! I keep finding myself wandering in there and wanting this baby to be here! (only 3 more months! Yikes!)

-Travis & I went up to Edmonton so he could write his ACP test for his EMT. The test went well, but it was the longest weekend of my life. I am so grateful for family that let us stay with them! I am also grateful that my husband can change a tire on the side of a busy highway. I am also grateful my husband and I didn't manage to murder one another between our ridiculous car troubles and our 30 hour trip from Edmonton to Medicine Hat. Yikes. Not a fun weekend.

-Still feeling really good. I do get the occasional heartburn...but that's it! Pregnancy is being really kind to me and I am so grateful for that because I know a lot of people have not so fun pregnancies.

Here are some pictures of my ever-growing bump. It seems I forgot week 24....blame it on baby brain. oops.

For some reason I look very uncomfortable here!

This picture is dedicated to Brooke. #23. (J's on my feet)

Love maxi dresses!

Halloween 2013: Milkman & Housewife.

Here are a few sneak peeks of inside the baby room. I promise I will show more when it is all done. For now, this will have to suffice:

That's it for now. Maybe I'll remember to give updates more than once every 6 weeks...but no promises.

Week 19 & 20

Where is the time going? How is it that I am already half way done this pregnancy?? Crazy!
Here is the latest update:

-Things are still going good, just getting bigger by the day and constantly being kicked from the inside day & night! (Does this girl ever take a rest??)

Oh ya...
It's A Girl!!

-Having the ultrasound was such a special experience, and I am so grateful my husband was able to be there with me. For the first time we got to see our little baby...doing flips. Literally she never stopped spinning and doing flips the entire exam. Everything was normal and healthy according to the ultrasound, and we even managed to get some pretty good shots of our little girl! (despite her creepy alien face...which I am assuming will get a heck of a lot cuter as she continues to cook!)

-I was pretty convinced I was going to have a boy! I had read all the "wives tales" to try and guess the gender...and every single one I read pointed to boy! (I know there is no accuracy to those tests, but after every single one came back as a boy...I started to wonder!!)

-Travis and I already have so much love for our little girl! (Yes...we do have a name picked out, but you will have to wait to find that out! Just in case someone steals it...then it's back to square one!!)

-Every single night, Travis has been trying to hear the baby's heartbeat with his stethoscope...but wasn't having any luck...but in the same night he heard the heartbeat AND felt her kick for the first time! It was so special! Even though he is still trying to convince me it could be boy...but I know his heart will melt when our little sweetheart arrives.

19 Weeks
-One of my darling (former...I have already been released after only 3 short months!) Young Women happily agreed to take a few gender reveal pictures for me! They turned out pretty good considering the wind, gross hair from work and the extreme difficulty of blowing bubble gum and looking semi-normal at the same time as my husband. (Thank heavens Samantha is really good with photoshop!!)

Clearly we had a hard time taking a good picture together...
20 weeks! I am having such a hard time not buying all of the cute baby
things at Target!!

I finally had to go through all of my clothes and put most of it in storage...I was getting too frustrated with trying to wear things that no longer fit! (out of sight, out of mind...right??)

Weeks 16, 17 & 18

Time for an update on this ever-growing belly of mine.

Ok, I'm going to be honest...I don't really have a whole lot to update you on...but here are a few little things that have been happening in week 16, 17 & 18:

-Still feeling pretty good. Some days I still feel extremely tired and would rather sleep all day rather than go to work.

-Leg cramps!! Waking me up in the middle of the night. I thought this was random, but I guess it is a fairly common symptom. (So my What to Expect App tells me...)

-Speaking of night time...I have been having such a hard time sleeping (besides the insane heat!!) I can constantly feel my abdominal muscles stretching and pulling. So on top of feeling bloated all the time, I can literally feel myself ballooning. Great.

-Movement!! I started feeling teeny tiny movements and kicks last week! This is so exciting because it just reassures me that there actually is something growing in there.

-My 1st Ultrasound is next week and I am SO excited! (And not just because I had a very horrifying/vivid dream I had twins...haha) I can't wait to be able see my baby!

Sorry for the crappier than usual quality...this was taken on my phone.

Still wearing my regular jeans...with the help of a belly band
(Which I would highly recommend)

Almost halfway!! Crazy!!

*Today I was able to peek in on a C-Section at work and got to see a little baby enter this world! Melted my heart!  I can't wait till it is my turn to hear & hold my baby for the first time. What a miracle.

Week 14 & 15

I really wish I had something exciting to report.
This whole pregnancy thing is treating me far better than I ever expected, and aside from constant hunger and exhaustion...things are great!

I saw the Doctor again this week (miraculously I saw the same Doctor as last time at the maternity clinic..which is rare!) He was still shocked that I wasn't even feeling pregnant. He also told me every pregnant lady probably hates me. What can I do? Haha! I was measuring exactly 15 weeks at the time of my appt. and this little thing growing inside me has a strong heartbeat...which is always a nice reminder to me that I actually am pregnant!

I am in the waiting stage now...waiting to find out what I am having so I can start shopping! (And begin the extremely daunting task of choosing a name!)
I actually managed to score (with the help of my husband) a brand new teal Bumbo chair at a garage sale for $10...keep the deals coming!

The next step is to pick out a crib! I can't wait! (neither can my mom!!)

I was actually horrified to go to the doctor this past week, fearing that with my constant eating, that I have probably gained at least 10 pounds. To my relief...only 2! Which is right on par so hopefully things continue going well! (The Doctor kept telling me how boring I was...but assured me boring is a good thing!!)

I was in bed moments before this picture...but I needed to take a picture for
the week (seeing as the week was basically over)
Procrastination! Oh ya...I borrowed your shirt Brooke, thanks!

**Still craving orange juice like a crazy woman. I think my husband has learned that the key to my heart these days is a cold orange juice. Yum! (Ok...now I seriously need orange juice)
