I feel like I have blinked and my whole pregnancy has flown by and the end is very near.
This week marks my 37th week...full term! Yay! So things could happen any time now...I am ready!!
This week I also finished up work..which I was actually pretty sad about. (I have to admit I came home crying and when Travis asked me what was wrong, all I could say was "people kept hugging me goodbye" Being emotional is awesome.) I have been so lucky to have such a great job with so many great people. I have spent a vast majority of my time at the hospital over the past 2ish years, that it will be so strange to not be there working. I have been working my butt of for the past few years to be able to pay for tuition, textbooks, paramedic uniforms, expensive tests & registration with the ACP and every day living costs without having to get a loan (ok...we had to get a small one when we first moved to Med. Hat because neither one of us had a job for the first month we were here) So I will go from being the main provider for our family to a stay at home mom. That will be quite the adjustment. The good news is Travis only has this semester of classes and then about a years worth of practicums. Who knows where we will go for those...but things will work out! The end is near...yay!!
We had a fantastic December & New Year thus far. We were able to spend a few weeks in the Lethbridge/Barnwell area which was awesome. We spent lots of times with friends & family watching movies, playing games, relaxing, babysitting, shopping, eating, chatting, eating, laughing and eating some more. That's the joy of being home for the holidays? A constant bombardment of delicious baked goods, yummy dinners and then going out to eat. The baby was in a food coma the entire time.
Speaking of the baby...no real updates. Still head down and moving a lot. Last time I was at the doctor they gave me a bunch of info about when to come into the hospital when I'm in labor. Yikes! It's finally hitting me! I also had a baby shower last week here in Med. Hat with some ladies from church. So many adorable baby clothes, shoes & other fun things! The nice part was that my Mom & Sister came out for it...and we were able to spend some quality time at Target!
Here are some pictures from the last few weeks! I don't have a picture with my chalkboard for weeks 34&35 as those weeks fell while we were out of town and I didn't want to haul it!
My cool sister Brooke took these pictures in the backyard at my parents house at my request just for fun!
I guess these are pretty close to the 34 week mark:
These maternity shots were taken by my awesome sister-in-law Nikki! This was at 35 weeks:
| I promise my hair isn't usually a mess. Feeling pretty big here. |
For my 21st birthday, my mom surprised me a few days after with a special delivery! (Thanks to my dad who had an appt. in medicine hat) I have been looking everywhere for mason jar glasses....and bam! Now I have them! She also made enough freezer meals to fill my entire freezer! Just more proof that my family is the best.
I also LOVE spending time with my sister. Seriously she is the coolest and there is never a dull moment when she is around. And when we are together...we are pretty weird.

On Christmas Day we got to Skype as a family with my favorite missionary! Miss my brother so much!
Well, that's about it for an update...hopefully next time I write it will be to show off a baby! (Ok, I know...I am being far too optimistic. The Dr. literally burst out laughing when I told him I had the hospital bags packed. But I would rather be prepared!) Who knows what the next few weeks will bring (other than a baby...duh.). Exciting times! Hope you are having a fantastic 2014 so far!
