I thought I would take advantage of a few spare minutes and write a short little update.
-Ruby is just about 6 weeks old and I cannot believe how fast time has flown. It seems like we just brought her home yesterday. (Maybe because labor&delivery are still a little too fresh in my mind!) I'm having a hard time even remembering my life without my sweet little Ruby. It is crazy the amount of love you can instantly have for such a tiny little human. Ruby has been such a blessing in our lives and we fall more in love with her every day!
-I am feeling great! The first few weeks I wondered if I would ever feel human again. I'm sure as time goes on I will continue to feel better and better. I try and make an effort to at least do my hair or makeup everyday so I don't feel like such a slob hanging out in my sweats most days.
-Next post will hopefully be showing off Ruby's newborn pictures. They are to die for. She is just the cutest. (although I might be a little biased)
-I try to take Ruby for walks in the stroller everyday...however the snow is putting quite the damper on that. Boo.
-If you didn't see the video on my Facebook or Instagram...Ruby is rolling over! (and has been since 1 week old) She rolls from her tummy on to her back. At first we thought it was a fluke, but every time we put her on her stomach she rolls right onto her back...making tummy time a challenge.
-Ruby is an awesome sleeper. We are so so so lucky. Ruby sleeps between 5-7 hours straight at night in her crib. She isn't the best napper in the day...but we are working on that. (I will take a good, uninterrupted sleep at night over anything!!) If she does get up in the night, she goes back to sleep pretty good after getting a full belly and a diaper change. (unless she pees all over everything mid-change. Which usually happens when Dad is changing her haha!)
-We had Ruby's baby blessing when she was two weeks old. It was so nice to have most of our family there! (Fun fact...Ruby was technically blessed in a YSA ward...)
-Ruby has started smiling these past few days! There is nothing cuter than baby smiles.
-When I was changing Ruby's diaper the other day, I noticed a lump. Travis and I thought she probably just had a swollen lymph node. Being the paranoid first time mom, I took her into walk in clinic and found out Ruby has an inguinal hernia and will eventually need surgery. Boo. Taking after dad in that regard.
Here are some pictures! (I know that's the part you really care about):
