The friday before valentines day there was an adult dance held here in Medicine Hat, so we decided to make a group date out of the occasion! We invited our good friends the Kay's over as well as Travis's brother Jesse (and found him a date from the YSA here) and had dinner and dessert at our place! It was so fun to actually have people over! We haven't really done that since being married! I made pineapple chicken for dinner...and clearly over estimated how much rich to make. When I lifted the lid to see if it was ready...well. Yeah. You can see what I saw! After some yummy cake Kylie brought we went to this adult dance...and I actually had fun! There weren't really a whole lot of people there (certainly few people under the age of 40) but there was super yummy drinks, chocolate fondue and a sweet photobooth! Hopefully I can get the pictures that were taken that night! After the dance we came back to our place and played Wii and chatted! It was a super fun night! (at least I thought so!)
On Valentines day, I worked 645-455 at the hospital and was very tired when I got home! When I opened the door to my apartment, there my husband was standing, freshly shaven, a new haircut holding a beautiful bunch of pink roses!! There was also a delicious raspberry candle waiting for me too! (I LOVE candles!) The other part of my valentines day gift is en route from Tennessee! A zebra-print Scentsy!! I cannot wait! (ok..I might have picked this one out myself off of Ebay...in my defense, I got a really good deal!!) After all that, we went for dinner at our favorite sushi place and then he was kind enough to take me to The Vow! Travis is the kind of guy to laugh at every cheesy pick up line in movies whilst rolling his eyes at the ridiculousness of a chick flick...So I was a little reluctant to go with him! (I also thought I would be weeping uncontrollably the whole time) Surprisingly it wasn't as "chick-flickish" as I had thought it was going to be! I didn't even really cry! (all that much..) It was a great night! My husband is so thoughtful and I am so grateful for him!
Valentines day is a good excuse to spoil a little bit extra than usual!
